Mia (TJX M.I.A.) Privacy Policy

What the app is. Mia is the mobile app and web service of the TJX M.I.A. platform for monitoring and operating bioreactors. It works only with a Mia account provided by your organization, on the Mia server of your region (Singapore, United States or Shanghai).

What we process. Your account (user name, and an email address if you set one); what you send to Mia (chat messages, notes, sample values, SOP progress, reports about Mia's answers); photos you take in the app for samples, SOP steps or reading instrument displays (faces are blurred and location and device metadata are removed on your phone before upload); and technical data needed to run the service (session and presence information, server logs). Voice commands are recognized on your phone and sent as text. The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.

Why. To provide the service: show your reactors, deliver alarms, answer your questions, record samples and SOP steps, keep the service secure, and review reported AI answers.

AI. Your questions and the context needed to answer them are processed by AI model providers on our behalf, under agreements that do not allow them to use your data for their own purposes. These providers include OpenAI and other AI model providers. We do not train AI models on your data.

Where. Data stays on the Mia server of your region and with the service providers that process it for us. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Security. All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Access is limited to your organization's accounts and our administrators.

Retention and deletion. Data is kept while your organization uses the service; reports about AI answers are kept for at least one year. You can delete conversations in the app. To delete your account and its data, ask your organization's Mia administrator or write to admin@tjxbio.com; we act within 30 days.

Children. The service is for professional use by adults and is not directed at children.
